Brumm Patient Advocacy Summit

Three people sit in front of a screen displaying a seascape. A man in a coral shirt sits in a motorized wheelchair, operating the joystick with his right hand. A man in a suit gestures with his right hand while speaking. Another man wearing a white baseball cap listens. All three wear lanyards with microphones.

Uniting Voices for Rare Disease Advocacy

The annual Brumm Patient Advocacy Summit is a signature event that brings together patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, industry leaders, and advocates to share knowledge, experiences, and innovative solutions in the rare disease community. The summit offers a unique platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action to improve the lives of those affected by rare diseases.

About the Summit

The Notre Dame Rare Disease Patient Advocacy Summit began in fall 2021 in partnership with Dyne Therapeutics. Since then, the event has continued to expand in both content and participation. The Summit, now sponsored by Joshua Brumm and Family, offers attendees the opportunity to:

  • Hear powerful patient and caregiver stories that highlight the realities of living with a rare disease.
  • Engage with healthcare providers and industry leaders working to advance research, treatment, and care for rare disease patients.
  • Networking opportunities between all attendees, including Notre Dame students, faculty, and staff, patients and caregivers, nonprofit partners, advocates, healthcare providers, and industry leaders.
A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a light blue blouse and dark pants, speaks into a microphone while gesturing with her other hand. She addresses a small audience seated at a table.
